Among the thousands of ornamental plants across the country on display at the Capital Ornamental Biology Exhibition 2022, many people suddenly stopped at a bonsai chicken egg tree with dozens of golden fruits on its branches.

The chicken egg tree was sold by the owner for 650 million VND.

Mr. Nguyen Van Oai, residing in Bien Giang ward (Ha Dong, Hanoi), the owner of this eggplant said that he bought the tree from a friend in Tay Ho in 2009 for 150 million VND.

“Before that, in 2001, my friend bought this chicken egg plant in Ha Nam. Seeing the tree I liked so much, I had an idea to make it more beautiful, so I wanted to buy it again, but I couldn’t buy it until 2009.

There are many golden fruits on the tree that attract visitors to see.

When I bought it, I had to cut the top and recreate it for more than 13 years to get the shape it is now, but in the past, the top was tall, the one-on-one design was not beautiful,” said Mr. Oai.

According to Mr. Oai, being a bonsai player for many years, in the garden there are nearly a hundred trees of all kinds such as birth, dew, fruit tree, star fruit, apricot tree, but this is the only eggplant.

The tree has a canopy of 2.5 meters wide, full of fruit.

“This chicken egg tree is about 55-60 years old. From the pedestal to the top of the tree is about 2m, the root diameter is about 30cm, the canopy is about 1.7m on one side and 2.5m on the other side. Many people like it and pay 500 million dong, but I have not sold it because the price of this tree must be at least over 600 million to sell,” said Mr. Oai.

The base of the tree is about 30cm in diameter.

In terms of aesthetics, chicken eggs are woody plants, which can be planted as shade and increase the aesthetics of the home garden.

This is the only bonsai chicken egg to attend this Exhibition of ornamental creatures in the Capital.

This is also a green plant, so it also contributes to air purification. With thick and green foliage, they have the ability to filter dust as well as absorb toxic substances, creating a green, clean, fresh environment, improving human health.

Mr. Oai cut the top and new shape of the tree about 13 years ago.

According to folklore, this tree carries the meaning of luck and fortune, and is mentioned by the ancients as a symbol of wealth, wealth and longevity because its fruit is shaped like a fairy peach.

In addition to the chicken egg tree, Mr. Oai also brought to the exhibition a hundred-year-old old bamboo tree, estimated at billions of dong.
