HO CHI MINH CITY – Tan Cang Station (Binh Thanh District) has the largest scale and different architecture with 10 stations on the Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien Metro Line, currently reaching 93% of the volume.

After 10 years of construction, Metro Line No. 1 (Ben Thanh – Suoi Tien) has completed 92% of the progress. The whole route has 11 elevated stations: Van Thanh, Tan Cang, Thao Dien, An Phu, Rach Chiec, Phuoc Long, Binh Thai, Thu Duc, Hi-tech Park, Suoi Tien, New Eastern Bus Station and 3 underground stations: Ba Son, Ben Thanh, City Theatre.

Among the elevated stations, Tan Cang (next to Saigon Bridge, Binh Thanh District) has the largest scale and separate architectural design, creating a highlight for the city’s first metro line. Currently, the station has reached 93% of the volume and is expected to be completed in the first quarter of next year.

Tan Cang Station currently completes the roof system, lights, and looks like the design. The dome-shaped roof has an area of ​​6,200 m2, designed with plastic-coated fiberglass film from Japan.

Tan Cang Station consists of a ground floor and two floors, 137 m long, 46 m wide and 32 m high. Right at the entrance to the ground floor is the main staircase leading up to the ticketing area, the lobby. This floor has items such as technical area, reception hall, fire protection, parking lot…

The upper floor is designed as a place to sell and check tickets, an administrative room, a souvenir shop, a technical room… under construction.

Stairs and escalators lead to the top floor, where the train stops to pick up and drop off passengers. The whole station has 3 elevators, 3 escalators and 6 stairs under construction.

The difference between Tan Cang station and Hi-tech Park station. At Tan Cang station, there are four tracks to help trains turn around easily, connecting with other metro lines in the future.

The two outermost rails are left open for light, creating ventilation for the station, making it easy for passengers to visit the scenery on both sides of the road. The roof on the side is roofed and protrudes 5 m out so that rain water does not seep into the station.

Two walkways on the side of the track are tiled and have a yellow walkway design specifically for people with disabilities. The entrance to the train has 96 doors on each side of aluminum and glass, imported from Europe. Under the entrance are drawn arrows pointing in and out for guests when the train stops.

The top floor is fitted with 24 beam-shaped light posts, next to which are columns for mounting notice boards. On the ceiling and on the sides of the upcoming station will complete the cable system, camera, signal wire…

A group of workers are constructing ventilation systems, parking lots, stairs… Currently, there are about 70 day workers and 30 night shift workers busy constructing other items such as finishing ceilings, interior and exterior walls, floor tiles, electromechanical on the ground floor, sanitary system, parking…
